Yahayra is a rising junior at the Sound School. She aspires to be a social worker and wants to find ways to help as many people as possible. She also is finding ways to raise awareness for water pollution and marine life.
Yahayra is currently attending the Sound School in New Haven, CT and is a rising junior. Her favorite course to take at school is English and she cannot wait to begin college, where she can start taking courses in Sociology. She finds English enjoyable because she is able to learn about ways to express herself through writing and finds Sociology fascinating because she will be able to get a better understanding and love for social work. It is not surprising that in the future, she aspires to be a social worker but is also thinking about a career path in law enforcement (like a detective or FBI agent) as a way to directly help people.
Outside of school, Yahayra enjoys singing, painting, biking, and hiking! She is excited to be joining the school swim team this upcoming fall. Listening to music is also one of her favorite past times, with Frank Ocean being one of her favorite artists.
Lots of Fish sparked Yahayra's interest because of their water pollution awareness campaigns. She has always had an interest in marine life and animals. Growing up, she always wanted to be involved with work like a mammal trainer or work for a marine mammal hospital. Working with Lots of Fish, she hopes to help as much as possibly to raise awareness for clean water for our aquatic animals. She cares about bettering our local environment because every little positive change has the potential to improve the way we see our neighborhoods and treat them. The better the environment, the better we live! The health of our environment impacts our health, so everyone must aspire for clean air and clean water.
